Modal Requirements
The instrument panel must meet certain modal requirements to ensure it does not resonate with surrounding components during driving.
Vibration and Noise Requirements
Instrument panel vibration and noise mainly originate from two sources: noise generated by component resonance and frictional noise between components.
Footspace Layout Verification
For resonance noise, the instrument panel should have sufficient rigidity to ensure it does not resonate with other components; for frictional noise between components, all sub-components of the instrument panel should have sufficient structural strength and fixing points to ensure that unacceptable noise is not generated during vehicle operation.
Stiffness Requirements
The instrument panel should meet relevant stiffness requirements in high-contact areas for drivers and passengers. When a certain force is applied to any position on the instrument panel, the resulting displacement should not exceed standard requirements; simultaneously, it should not suffer damage or permanent deformation under extreme forces.
Reliability Requirements
The instrument panel must ensure that throughout the vehicle's entire lifespan, components do not exhibit twisting, cracking, color changes, gloss changes, dimensional changes, or other harmful effects, and that no functional failure occurs. The instrument panel should meet functional durability and environmental aging resistance requirements, including resistance to temperature and humidity, and light aging.
Appearance Requirements
The visible surfaces of the dashboard must be free from any defects that affect its appearance, such as dents, bumps, folds, cracks, peeling, and variations in color, gloss, or texture. Furthermore, the gaps and surface differences between the various parts of the dashboard must meet the dimensional specifications. For areas with similar shapes or symmetrical structures, fillets and gaps must be consistent, and gaps and misalignments between parts must be concealed from view.
